Aims of School

This IHY school hosted by CSSAR will provide students with not only the chance to develop their studies of heliophysics, but also the ability to work with researchers active in the field during the school as a means of broadening their research. It is expected that upon completion of this school, graduates will be familiar with several new topics, will have made fundamental connections with and undergone personal mentoring by a number of leading researchers, and will have identified new arenas and pathways to apply their own knowledge in the future. We felt that a school should be a good opportunity to bring together researchers domestic and aboard, yet exchange of knowledge and fostering scientific cooperation in heliophysics. We also hope that such a school should serve as a springboard for the further advancement of the heliophysics of China through future collaborations.

Themes

This is a two-week school, to focus on a broad range of extended heliophysics, including solar physics, heliospheric physics, geospace physics and space weather, related to the IHY science topic areas. The structure of school consists of about 50 lectures, as well as a series of lab exercises and observatory visits.
